As to which Candidate won the debate, I believe that President Obama, at least to some, may have won the battle, but in doing so, by
his own hand, lost the war when it came to the Administration’s handling of the attack on our Benghazi Consulate.
From the debate transcript:
“And the suggestion that anybody in my team, whether the Secretary of State, our U.N. Ambassador, anybody on my team would play politics or mislead when we've lost four of ourown, governor, is offensive. That's not what we do. That's not what I do as president, that's not what I do as Commander in Chief!”
The problem is Mr. President; this is exactly what you did. Take your pick. Either you and your administration are grossly incompetent and remained uniformed and ignorant of the facts for more than a week of what our own agencies knew, or you colluded in a cover-up and orchestrated the deception to fit your political narrative related to your so-called foreign policy expertise. Frankly, as the facts continue to be revealed, the weight of evidence tilts toward the latter conclusion. Why? Because we now know there never was any protest at the Benghazi compound -- not against an anti-Muslim video or anything else. And if there was no protest, who sent Carney out to blame the attack on the protest? And if there was no protest, who programmed Rice and put her on five separate Sunday talk shows to attribute the massacre to a protest that never happened? And finally, if real-time intelligence and U.S. agents at the scene knew it was
premeditated, preplanned terrorism by Sept. 12, who told Rice to deny specifically on Sept. 16 that the attack was premeditated or preplanned?
Over the next week, we are going to watch the Administration’s homespun tale of Benghazi unravel and if any portion of the façade survives, Mitt Romney will be there at the debate on foreign policy Monday to make the truth clear about Benghazi and our fallen Americans -- and by extension, to pull the rug out from underneath the entire Obama house of cards.
I don’t believe Mitt Romney lost the debate last night. I believe he won the presidency. I doubt that the polls will shift their momentum with such a horrific scandal looming like an ominous dark cloud over Obama and his Administration…
